By peach

i think my first munch was in the Beavercreek area, about two years ago, and it was funny that it didn’t seem to confine itself to only one restaurant. When dinner was done at one place, (i think it was a Marion’s pizza) the whole bunch just sort of wandered across the street to another place to get ice-cream! If anything served to give me the impression that Fightclub was not a place where i had to worry about standing on ceremony, that did.

Neither Sir nor i had done much in the way of our kink, yet, and we were both very new to the idea that we could talk about it to anyone and that it wasn’t something to be ashamed of. i think we were both pretty nervous about meeting an entire group of supposedly “kinky” people, (i was certainly terrified and embarrassed) but it was the desire to find like-minded people who wouldn’t judge us, that made us take the chance.

It was our friend, Colin, who introduced us to the group, and he was right there with us that night, to kind of help us feel like we had some moral support, and to keep us talking. To tell you the truth, i was more than surprised by how the night played out. We were 45 minutes late to the munch, (a circumstance that happens more often than not, i’m afraid, with us) but when we arrived, no one was upset in the slightest. People talked to us freely, and at least a few people seemed eager to get to know us. i remember people getting up and actually changing seats with each other, just to be sure and get a moment to talk to Sir and i. (the table was long, and not everyone could talk at the same time)

One guy i met was wearing a tail, a big, fluffy, awesome TAIL, right out in public! And when i talked to him, he wasn’t odd or strange or creepy, (things i had feared) but was a perfectly normal, intelligent person.

i went home feeling pleasantly elated, and reassured that kinky people were, in fact, normal people. That one evening changed something about the way i looked at the BDSM culture, and kink in general. i met people from many different walks of life that night, with professions as normal and varied as you could think of. These people were in my age group, had busy lives and personal goals and growing careers, and they just happened to be incredibly kinky! Kinky people didn’t have to be mean, or creepy, and i had found someplace to go where i could feel that my choices, and my kink, would be respected.
Not to mention, the people were just fun to talk to.

So, i’d have to say that my first much was a success for me, even though i can’t remember a thing we talked about, or even if i had anything to eat. i remember the good people, and the good feelings, and that is what Fightclub became about for me. It was worth the nervous tremors of being a new person at a new place, to meet the people i met, and learn that it’s possible to be accepted even when you’re different.
